Online Classrooms and More

Today I would like to tell you all about the exciting links I've found wandering around the internet. How would you like to learn the basics of some of the programs that is located on your computer? Well now you can when you visit http://www.internet4classrooms.com/on-line.htm Internet 4 Classrooms where the basics for many of the most used programs are located. Programs such as Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Excel, Windows / PC, MS Works and others. This site is a great place to start to learn those tricky programs that came with your computer. So much to learn but so much time to do it in because you can do it at your own pace and in your own home.

I also found a site http://www.portableapps.com that is great for those who like to use specific programs to do their web surfing or word processing but when they go over to another person's house these programs are not always available and now through the use of technology you can transport those program like Gimp, Open Office, Firefox and others on your trusty flash drive which range in cost from $20 up and who can't afford a flash drive better yet who can afford not to have a flash drive these days. Now that 8 out of every household has a computer that has a USB port you can take a portion of your personal computer with you. By using Roboform portable you can create a safe encrypted database of your important user names / passwords so that when you leave home you can take those user names / passwords with you and stay safe and secure. You can download a free trial copy of Roboform Portal by Clicking Here. Some people might be asking the question... What if I lose the flash drive? Someone steals the flash drive? Well with roboform it makes it so much more difficult to gain access to your data.

I have another solution to make it even harder for a person to break into your data. Currently Lexar is selling secure flash drives that when you run the program that comes with the disk you can create a encrypted area of the disk that can not be accessed without a password.

Now to be honest this is only as good as a regular door lock and many thieves can get through most locks if they really want to do so which is why there is flash drives that require a thumb or finger print to access the drive and these types of flash drives are called Bio Drives which cost a little more than the simple Lexar secure flash drives which can be torn apart and back engineered to get the data off the chip if your really hard pressed to get the data. The Bio Drives has the same flaw in that they can be torn apart and get the raw data that way.

Now then your asking what is left well we have the Iron Key which is government issue secure in that there is very little anyone can do to back door the data on this flash drive. If a person steals the drive and puts in the wrong password 10 times then the data chip inside explodes. The drive becomes useless to that person however the owner can get a new one or if they somehow get the old back they can have a new chip inserted and the data which is backed up and encrypted on the Iron Key data banks you really don't lose anything and the only real people that can break into it can't even by law unless it is a matter of national security in which case it wouldn't matter too much now would it? One of the fine points about Iron Key is that if someone does get your Iron Key and learns the password when they are online it logs into the Iron Key server and records the IP address so that it can be traced by law enforcement. For most people a Iron Key is a little extra work and unless you are just extra worried about losing your flash drive one of the cheaper versions of a flash drive will work wonders. If you do however find yourself wanting to buy a Iron Key then contact Ample Green by email and put in the title Iron Key and Ample Green Foundation can arrange for a 28 day trial of the Iron Key then if you are not entirely convinced that a Iron Key is what you need you return it and your credit card is never fully charged.

Flash drives are good for carrying your homework and other data to school and you can now use a flash drive to access those programs that it takes to do the work. This makes it a lot easier on the teacher and the students. The days of the dog ate my homework are gone. The day of the computer crashed and the hard drive ate my homework are gone too because now you can place that data on a external hard drive as well as a flash drive and therefore there is no need for homework being lost...just not being done. When people (students especially) learn that using the excuse that something happened that was out of my control and just state the real of it... I didn't do the work and then state when the work will be done setting your own limits and boundaries that we all soon are able to live within and society works with you and not against you.

Have a wonderful surfing experience. If you have any questions just drop Ample Green Foundation an email and we will do our best to help you locate the answer.
